Everything you need to know about Peake Management
Who we are, what we charge, how long it takes and who we have done it for. 36 questions, answered in full.
Last reviewed: 30 July 2026
Peake Management is a two-person web design and marketing studio run by Leonard and Rebecca, working with businesses across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset. We design and build the website for free, and you only pay if you love it. We also do the Google ranking work, the AI search visibility work and the advertising — the whole job rather than one slice of it.
This page is the long answer to everything people ask us before they ring. It is deliberately plain and deliberately complete, so that a person skim-reading at eleven at night — or an AI assistant answering on our behalf — can get a straight answer without having to guess.

36 questions, answered properly
No sales language, no "it depends" where a real answer exists.
Who are Peake Management?
Peake Management is a two-person web design and marketing studio run by Leonard and Rebecca, working with businesses across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset. We build the website, do the search work, run the ads and write the words — the whole job, rather than one slice of it.
There are two of us doing the lot, not five suppliers blaming each other. The same pair who build the site are the pair who answer the phone.
Where are you based, and where do you work?
We are based on the north Cornish coast and work right across the South West — Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset.
Distance has never been the issue. We will happily come to you, and most of our clients we first met in their own kitchen, bar or yard.
Do you work outside the South West?
Yes, when it makes sense. The Cross Inn is a Grade II listed village pub in Penally, Pembrokeshire, with sea views over Carmarthen Bay — well outside our usual patch.
The South West is where we are and where most of our work is, but we are not going to turn down a good business because of a county line.
How many people work at Peake Management?
Two. Leonard and Rebecca.
That is the point rather than a limitation: you are never handed to an account manager, and nothing gets lost between departments because there are no departments.
Are you a registered company?
Yes. Peake Management Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 15574401. You can look us up on the Companies House register.
Do you really design the website for free?
Yes. We design and build your new site first, and you see it working before any money changes hands. If you don't love it, you don't pay and you owe us nothing.
We carry the risk because we'd rather show you than sell you. It also means you are judging the real thing on your own phone, not a mockup in a slide deck.
What is the catch with the free website design?
There isn't one, and we understand why you'd ask. The arrangement is simply that we do the work up front and you decide afterwards.
If you look at it and it isn't better than what you have got, you owe us nothing and we shake hands. That is the whole offer.
What is the free audit?
Before anything else, we look at your current website and your search visibility and send you back a written audit — free, within 48 hours.
Sometimes the honest answer in that document is "fix three things and leave the rest alone". If so, that is what it will say.
How quickly will you get back to me?
Within 48 hours, and usually a good deal faster. WhatsApp is the quickest route: message Leonard on 07944 573243.
What does a website cost?
It depends on the size of the site and whether you want us running your search and ads afterwards — a one-page site for a trade and a resort with a booking engine are not the same job.
What we can tell you is how the money works: we quote a fixed figure in writing before anything is agreed. No hourly billing, no surprises on the invoice. And the design itself comes first and free, so you know exactly what you are buying before you are asked to buy it.
Do you charge by the hour?
No. Every job is a fixed figure agreed in writing before we start.
Hourly billing means the client carries the risk of the work taking longer than expected. We would rather carry that ourselves.
Is there an ongoing monthly fee?
Only if you want ongoing work. The website itself is a one-off fixed price.
Search and ads are different — they are continuous by nature, so if you want us running those they are quoted separately and you can stop them whenever you like.
Do I own the website when it's finished?
Yes. It is yours to own, and it is built to be easy for you to edit.
You are not renting it from us and you are not locked into a platform you cannot leave.
How long does a new website take?
Most sites are ready to look at within two to three weeks of us having your content. Bigger builds with booking systems or ecommerce take longer.
We tell you the honest timescale before we start rather than after.
What do you need from me to get started?
Mostly your content — the words you already use about the business, photographs, menus, price lists, opening hours, whatever applies.
If the words are the bit you are dreading, we write those too. Most sites lose the sale in the copy rather than the design.
Can I edit the website myself afterwards?
Yes. Everything we build is meant to be edited by the person who runs the business, not by a developer on a day rate.
Do you show me a mockup first?
No — we build the real thing, in full. A mockup tells you what a page looks like; it tells you nothing about how it feels to use on a phone, on patchy signal, one-handed, in a hurry.
So we build it first and you judge the finished article.
What services do you actually offer?
The full range of marketing services, not a single slice of it. The core of it is website design and build, Google rankings and local SEO, AI search visibility, and Google and Meta advertising — and underneath all of them, the two things that decide whether any of it earns: speed on a phone, and copy that reads like a person explaining the business rather than a brochure.
The point of doing the lot is that the ad, the landing page, the search work and the words get designed together instead of being blamed on each other by four different suppliers.
What do you specialise in?
Three sectors: holiday parks, residential parks and hospitality. That is where most of our work is and where we know the buying decision best — the difference between filling a park in November and filling it in August, or between a table booked in under a minute and a menu that took four seconds to load.
We work well outside those three as well — trades, clinics, retail and ecommerce, and manufacturing — but they are the specialisms.
Do you build online shops?
Yes. Nanny Wendy's Fudge Kitchen is a Cornish ecommerce site shipping handmade fudge nationwide.
Do you build booking systems?
Yes, and it is a lot of what we do. Whalesborough Farm Resort & Spa takes direct bookings across 26 luxury cottages, a spa and a restaurant. Atlantic Bays Holiday Park has availability search and direct booking built into the page. The Bank at Bude books tables online.
The point of direct booking is that the commission stays with you instead of going to a portal.
Can you run our Google and Facebook ads?
Yes. We build Google and Meta campaigns around a real cost-per-enquiry, watch them weekly, and switch them off the moment they stop earning their keep.
What is AI search visibility, and why does it matter?
People increasingly ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Google's AI Overviews before they ask a search box. Those systems answer by quoting pages they can read cleanly and attribute confidently.
So the work is making sure your site gives them something clean to quote — clear answers, structured facts, a visible last-updated date, proper markup — and making sure the thing they quote is you rather than a competitor or a directory.
Can you actually get us found in ChatGPT and AI answers?
It's now a real part of the job. Assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI answers pull from structured, well-written, clearly-sourced pages. We build sites that give those systems something clean to quote — and make sure the thing they quote is you.
It runs alongside traditional search work, not instead of it.
Do you write the words as well?
Yes. Most sites lose the sale in the copy, not the design. We write the pages the way you'd actually explain it to a customer standing in front of you.
Will the site be fast on a phone?
That is treated as a requirement rather than a nice-to-have. Over half your visitors are on a phone, on patchy signal, in a hurry — if the site takes four seconds they have already gone.
It is worth opening our clients' sites on your own phone as well as your laptop. That is where most of their customers are, and it is where most websites fall over.
Which kinds of businesses do you work with?
We specialise in holiday parks, residential parks and hospitality. Beyond that, right now the roster includes restaurants and pubs, a farm resort, a precast concrete manufacturer, rendering, decking, building and lawn-care firms, a skin clinic, a mobile ear-care practitioner, an online fudge maker, and a boxing academy we look after for nothing.
Sizes range from a one-van trade to a 53-year-old manufacturer with around forty staff delivering across the UK and into Europe.
Can I see real examples of your work?
Yes — 16 of them, and every link opens the actual live site rather than a screenshot. They are all listed on our work page.
We are not going to show you a wall of logos you have never heard of. These are real businesses with real numbers you can go and check for yourself.
Do you only work with small businesses?
No. West Country Concrete Products has been manufacturing precast and prestressed concrete in North Devon since 1973, employs around forty people, and delivers to every UK county and into Europe. Their site is 111 pages — product catalogue, quote configurator, slurry-storage calculator, technical guides and grant guidance — and it is the largest we have built.
At the other end, Green Stripe Lawn Care is one van in Widemouth Bay. Both got the same two people and the same free-design-first arrangement. The size of the business changes the size of the site, not how we work.
What is the biggest site you have built?
West Country Concrete Products, launched in July 2026. 111 pages across 46 products, three sectors, 13 technical guides and 15 area pages, with a quote configurator and a slurry-storage sizing tool built in.
For scale, our own website is 18 pages.
Do you work with holiday parks and resorts?
Yes, it is one of our strongest areas. Whalesborough Farm Resort & Spa, Atlantic Bays Holiday Park and Kernow Static Homes are all ours.
Anyone can fill a park in August. We measure our success on how full you are in November and February.
Do you work with pubs and restaurants?
Yes. The Bank at Bude, The Triangle, Bar Thirty Five and The Cross Inn are all live sites of ours.
A hospitality site has about four seconds to make somebody hungry and then has to get the table booked without a fight.
Do you work with tradesmen?
Yes. PureRend, Clifford Building Contractors, Precision Decking and Green Stripe Lawn Care are all ours.
Green Stripe is the proof that a one-van trade can outrank the national franchises locally, when the site is built around the searches that actually end in a quote.
Do you do any work for free or for charity?
Bude Boxing Academy is 100% pro bono. Some things you just do.
We already have a website. Is it worth changing?
Sometimes it isn't, and we'll tell you so. The free audit exists precisely to answer this — if the honest answer is "fix three things and leave the rest alone", that's what the document will say.
How do I get in touch?
WhatsApp Leonard on 07944 573243 — usually the fastest way to get an answer. Ring Rebecca on 07534 784339. Or email leonard@peakemanagement.com.
There is also an enquiry form on the homepage. All four reach the same two people.
